A truly successful woodworking project doesn't just look good, it also begs to be touched. An important characteristic of this high "touchable" factor is the absence of sharp corners and hard edges; and corners that are "eased" with a radius or chamfer make a woodworking project feel as good as it looks. That is why you need the Woodpeckers Corner Jig- it's the fastest and most precise way to rout radiused or chamfered corners.
The Woodpeckers Corner Jig is designed to guide a pattern-cutting router bit (aka flush trim bit) to cut a perfect curve or chamfer in any corner. To handle projects of different sizes and enable you to get your corner-cutting proportions right on the money, Woodpeckers offers a selection of 12 different radius inserts and 6 chamfer inserts.
Woodpeckers' Corner Jig couldn't be easier to use. It's designed to clamp in place on a large work piece, providing a flat, secure base for your router as you move the bit along the insert's guiding edge. Alternatively, you can hold a smaller work piece in the jig and move the jig and work piece together against a bearing-guided bit mounted in your router table.
Each corner insert has a precisely machined recess that indexes against a mounting flange on the base plate. Three socket-head screws secure the insert to the base plate. On the underside of the base plate, a pair of registration strips butt against the edges of the work piece to align the radiused or chamfer insert perfectly. These design features make it virtually impossible to misalign the cut you make with your router.
The Woodpeckers Corner Jig is CNC-machined from aircraft-grade aluminum.
